Bilingual HIV/STD Testing Specialist (Full-Time)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Full-time position with fringe benefits available for a self-motivated, dynamic, and outgoing individual to join our team. Responsibilities include conducting HIV and sexually transmitted diseases (STD) testing and outreach activities; educating gay and bisexual men, African-American females and other community members about sex and HIV/STD prevention (in English and Spanish); and actively recruiting and developing volunteers. Must be comfortable talking about sex and STDs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Successful candidates should be able to interact with the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender (LGBT) community with ease, retain the ability to handle a moderate workload, be detail-oriented, lift 25-50 lbs., work flexible hours (late evenings and some weekends required), and establish and maintain working relationships with diverse people, the community, and businesses. Be familiar navigating social media and social dating (hook-up) apps, and have experience with Microsoft Office software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Will train the right candidate, including for drawing blood; qualification in Foundations of Counseling and Testing (FCT) is a plus. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred. Experience with diverse communities, like those mentioned above, is required. Own transportation required. Work mileage reimbursed. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:

Starting at $14.00 per hour. 40 hours per week. Plus competitive fringe benefits.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

CASE MANAGER

Description: A leading Tarrant County HIV/AIDS education, services and advocacy organization has an immediate opening for a full-time Case Manager. Case Managers are expected to assess, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate actions required to meet the client’s health and human services to populations that include men, women and children with HIV; particularly within ethnic and racial minority communities. The ideal applicant will be a team player, be very flexible, be able to work independently and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements:  LBSW, experience in case management; working knowledge of HIV; experience with substance abuse issues; strong knowledge of community resources; family systems orientation.

Preferred:  Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Compensation:  Salary commensurate with skills and experience, generous vacation benefit, comprehensive insurance package, and retirement plan.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: CONTRACT COUNSELOR (LCSW or LPC)

Immediate opening for a contract counselor.

This position provides the opportunity to work on a supportive team, in a low pressure environment, with diverse clients.

Responsibilities include:
• providing counseling to individuals, couples and families to meet the emotional and psychological needs of the clients.
• maintain current documentation and treatment plan for each client.

Requirements:
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required
• individual therapy skills and experience
• expertise in working with diverse populations
• bilingual preferred, but not required
• knowledge of HIV preferred, but not required
• strong knowledge of community resources
• excellent verbal and written communication skills.
