Description: A leading Tarrant County HIV/AIDS education, services and advocacy organization has an immediate full-time opening for a front desk receptionist. The position reports to the Director of Administrative Services. Duties include: operates agency switchboard; provides guest relations services; schedules appointments for client services; performs date entry and general clerical duties; manages meeting room schedules; and participates in meetings, trainings, and events as requested.
Requirements: High school education/GED required, some college preferred; bilingual Spanish skills required; multi-line switchboard experience; general clerical office skills; strong verbal/written communication skills; ability to work with diverse populations; ability to handle crisis calls/situations and to discuss sensitive issues; intermediate level computer proficiency including work in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook; valid Texas Driver's license; proven driving record; reliable transportation; highly punctual.

For the past 25 years, 340B has helped provide low-cost medications and better health outcomes for millions of Americans and the non-profit clinics and hospitals who serve them. 340B savings enable safety net providers to fund services and care for uninsured and underinsured patients.
Many of AOC’s new programs have been funded by AHF through 340B. Today, the future of 340B is unclear as legislation is proposed to modify or eliminate 340B.

Reporting to the Director of Case Management, the Outreach Worker conducts activities designed to locate and enroll HIV+ members of the funded target populations who are not receiving medical care and link them to medical care and other needed social services.
Works with staff of AOC and medical providers to identify and locate HIV+ members of the funded target populations that are not engaged in medical care.
Facilitate returning clients to medical care either directly or through referrals to internal and/or external programs.
Provide client education on the importance of HIV medical care and treatment adherence.
Provide referrals to assist clients in removing barriers to care.
Follow-up on referrals to determine whether the clients accessed medical care and/or other services.
Maintains confidentiality of HIV+ individuals and respects their right of self determination in seeking services, while educating clients on disease process.
Maintains accurate records of outreach activities, both for individuals who are contacted and enrolled in services at other medical and/or social providers, and for those individuals who become clients of AOC, including monthly reports to fulfill grant requirements.
Acts as service oriented liaison with healthcare providers and community based organizations.
Participate in Community Advisory Board
Participate in agency meetings, retreats, work sessions and events as requested.
Complete required initial and ongoing training.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
One or more years’ experience in social service or related field preferred; knowledge of HIV/AIDS issues; knowledge of cultural/ethnic issues; ability to work with individuals of varying background and perspective, ability to discuss sex/sexuality issues in appropriate manner with clients; valid Texas driver’s license and proven driving record. Must provide proof of auto liability insurance and pass a criminal background check.

AOC is excited to announce our new Trans Wellness program! The program will provide hormone replacement therapy and STD testing as well as patient navigator and counseling services to the adult trans community. To make an appointment call 469-310-4500.
The HRT clinic will be held the first and third Saturday of every month. New clients will need to make an appointment for lab work beforehand. There is no cost for the appointments or labs. Clients will only have to pay for the cost of their hormone therapy.
